Description

Semi-Sweet wine from Georgia

Alazani Valley is a naturally semi-sweet white wine crafted from Rkatsiteli and Mtsvane grapes. Its name reflects the origin of the vineyards — the picturesque Alazani Valley, located near the Alazani River in Georgia’s renowned Kakheti wine region.

It pours a light straw color with soft golden reflections. The aroma is fresh and inviting, filled with notes of honey, ripe apples, peach, quince, melon, and a hint of citrus.

On the palate, it’s smooth and gently sweet, with bright fruit flavors and a delicate touch of floral and vanilla notes that add just the right amount of charm.

This is an easygoing, versatile wine you can enjoy on its own — perfect for relaxing evenings. It also pairs wonderfully with vegetables, seafood, white meat in sweet-and-sour sauces, and desserts.

Enjoy every sip — and cheers to great moments ahead! 🍷

FAQ

What is semi-sweet wine?

Semi-sweet wine is a style of wine with a moderate level of residual sugar (typically 18–45 g/L). It falls between dry and dessert wines in terms of sweetness.

What makes it unique is that fermentation is stopped before all the natural sugars are converted into alcohol, creating a balanced profile with fresh character, gentle acidity, and smooth sweetness.

What is the difference between semi-sweet sweet wine?

The main difference between sweet and semi-sweet wines comes down to sugar content and how they’re made:

  • As mentioned earlier, in semi-sweet wines, fermentation is intentionally stopped once the sugar level reaches up to 45 g/L.
  • In contrast, sweet wines are typically made from partially dried grapes, which naturally concentrate the sugars, resulting in levels above 45 g/L.

What foods pair well with semi-sweet white wine?

Semi-sweet white wine is perfect with dishes that have bold or flavorful notes to balance its gentle sweetness.

Try it with seafood like shrimp or mussels, baked white fish, or poultry such as chicken or turkey in creamy or sweet-and-sour sauces.

It’s also delicious with soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert, fresh fruit, desserts, and even a variety of Asian dishes.
