Silk Road Wines imports and distributes natural wines from the country of Georgia. Winemaking in Georgia stretches back over 8,000 years of history making it the world’s oldest wine-producing country. Our products originate from the lush mountainside vineyards of eastern Kakheti, Georgia’s premiere grape growing region that boasts both historical relics as well as stunning landscapes. Our goal is to introduce our clients to the oldest and most distinctive wines in the world. Therefore, we have limited our selection to wines that have been subject to rigorous sampling and critiques to ensure a premium quality product. What really makes our wines special is their origin from the country that is the birthplace of wine, whose inhabitants have carried down traditional production methods for centuries so that to this day, we are able to enjoy flavors that can be found nowhere else.

The qvevri is Georgia’s most important and best-known winemaking vessel, and it remains the centerpiece of traditional winemaking in Georgia.  We have a selection of wines that are made using the ancient qvevri method. Our amber wines are produced by using white grapes which include the skins during fermentation to give the wine additional flavor and color, known as skin contact wine. Previously, this type of wine was limited to production only in Eastern Europe and some parts of Italy, but has started to grow immensely popular with people around the world due to its incredible flavor and stunning colors. In addition to our qvevri wines, we also offer a dry white wine as well as our dry and semi-sweet reds using indigenous Georgian grape varieties. We are incredibly proud of our products and thankful to the country of Georgia for introducing winemaking to the world.
