Description

Aromatic 100% Saperavi Grape

Grown in the stony soils of the appellation-controlled Kindzmarauli, in the Kakheti Wine Region of Georgia, Kindzmarauli wine is renowned for its rich, ripe cherry color and pronounced fruit and berry aromas.

This wine is a good choice if you like sweet reds or port wine and prefer a semi-sweet wine that is deep and mysterious.

Kindzmarauli is made from 100% Saperavi grapes, which thrive in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains. The region’s unique terroir and traditional winemaking methods give it a subtle minerality and vibrant acidity that balances against its natural sweetness, for a well-rounded and refined profile.

For centuries Georgians have enjoyed its smooth, velvety texture and natural sweetness. Kindzmarauli is also considered an elegant semi-sweet red wine offering aromas of crushed rose petals, plums, and wild berries.

The Silk Road Wines team recommends enjoying Kindzmarauli wine slightly chilled or at room temperature, depending on the pairing.

My current favorite wine in the Silk Road portfolio is KindzMarauli. This wine is an overall crowd pleaser. It has the ability to transition those that typically prefer dry wines, to the sweeter side, in such an astonishing way. Also, those on the opposite end that typically only drink wines with higher levels of sugar, equally enjoy this wine. They get to experience a wine that is naturally semi sweet, well balanced, with a higher level of alcohol, than most of the sweet wines they are accustomed to. I also love that it is extremely versatile for food pairing. It can serve as a great wine to pair with a main dish such as slow oven roasted pork belly, which is my personal favorite pairing to date. Then it can also pair wonderfully with dessert, “homemade vanilla ice cream, anyone?” Before savoring, you have to take a moment and appreciate the beautiful pronounced aromas of ripe dark berries, crushed rose petals and hints of vanilla spice this wine displays. Then you are ready to capture the amazing velvety texture on the palate and flavors that mirror the aromas. Cheers!

I would say my favorite Silk Road wine of the moment would be the KindzMarauli. I don’t typically go for a semi-sweet wine but the jammy, warm vanilla, baking spice flavors and aromatics provides a nostalgic experience of holiday cooking with my family. It’s a great wine to cozy up with on a cold day.

Amazing wine with a really pleasant taste and a gentle sweetness. I’m far from a sommelier, but even I could pick up the berry notes in the flavor. Great value for the money — and I even got a 10% discount on my first purchase. Absolutely awesome!

I bought it just to give it a try after finding a promo code on Instagram. Overall, it’s an excellent wine. Shipping was fast, and both my wife and I are very happy with it.
